Privacy Policy
MIDI Oracle is operated by Gajentis, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and how it is handled.
What data we collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
- Email address — when you contact us or register for a licence. Used to deliver your licence key and respond to support requests.
- Payment data — handled entirely by our payment processor (Paddle). We do not store card details. Paddle's privacy policy applies to payment transactions.
- Licence activation data — a record of your licence key and the number of machines it has been activated on. This is required to enforce the terms of your licence.
- Anonymous usage telemetry — see below.
Anonymous usage telemetry
MIDI Oracle sends lightweight, anonymous telemetry events to help us understand how the product is being used and where to focus improvements. These events contain no personal information, no project data, no MIDI, and no user identification — only the event type, plugin version, and where applicable a feature name.
Events recorded include:
- Whether a request completed or encountered an error (no instruction text, no MIDI data, no prompt content).
- When a feature gate is reached (i.e., a user attempts to use a feature not included in their current tier), along with the feature name.
This data cannot be linked back to any individual. It is used solely to improve the product. Telemetry is opt-out. To disable it, open MIDI Oracle, go to Help → About and check Opt out of anonymous usage telemetry.
What we do not collect
- We do not track your activity on this website beyond standard web server logs (IP address, page requested, timestamp), which are retained for up to 30 days for security purposes.
- We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics scripts.
Your musical data
MIDI Oracle operates entirely within your local REAPER session. Your MIDI, audio, project files, track names, and composition data never leave your machine as a result of using this software. We do not upload, transmit, store, index, or have any access to your musical work at any point. Your music and session data will never be used to train AI models — by us or by anyone acting on our behalf.
When you submit an instruction, the Software constructs a request describing relevant session context (such as track names, tempo, time selection, and existing MIDI structure) and sends it to your chosen AI provider using the API key you supply. That request is sent directly from your machine to your provider — it does not pass through any Gajentis server. Gajentis has no visibility into the content of those requests and retains no copy of them. The handling of that data is governed solely by your AI provider's own privacy policy.
Feedback submissions
MIDI Oracle includes an optional in-plugin feedback form. When you choose to submit feedback, the files from your most recent request — which may include MIDI data exported from your REAPER session — are uploaded alongside your message to assist our support team.
We want to be completely transparent about how this data is handled:
- No human ever opens or listens to your MIDI. The files are not loaded into a DAW, played back, or manually examined by anyone at Gajentis.
- It is handled transiently. When a support ticket is raised, the attached files are passed as input to an AI model solely to help diagnose the cause of the issue and identify improvements. This is an automated diagnostic step, not a review by a person.
- It will never be used to train AI models — by us or by any third party acting on our behalf. Submission data is strictly off-limits for model training purposes.
- It is permanently deleted when the ticket is closed. Once a support case is resolved, all associated files are removed and cannot be recovered.
Feedback submission is entirely voluntary. Declining to submit will not affect your access to the software or support.
Testimonials
MIDI Oracle includes an optional testimonial submission form. If you choose to submit a testimonial, your name and the text of your message may be published on this website to help others discover the product.
By submitting a testimonial you give your explicit consent for us to quote and attribute it publicly. This consent is the legal basis on which we publish the content. You may withdraw consent and request removal of your testimonial at any time by contacting us at info@midioracle.com — we will remove it promptly. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any publication that took place before the withdrawal.
Legal basis for processing (UK GDPR)
- Licence and support data is processed on the basis of contract performance — it is necessary to deliver the product you purchased.
- Testimonial data is processed on the basis of explicit consent, given at the point of submission.
- Anonymous telemetry is processed on the basis of legitimate interests — it contains no personal data and can be disabled at any time.
- Security logs are processed on the basis of legitimate interests.
Data retention
Licence records are retained for the life of the licence. Email correspondence is retained for up to 3 years. Testimonials are retained until you withdraw consent and request removal. You may request deletion of any personal data at any time, subject to our obligation to maintain records for active licences.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@midioracle.com.
